    London Maternity and Neonatal safety improvement Programme (MatNeoSIP)

    Please join us in sharing learning and celebrating the exciting achievements of London Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) who are participating in the national Medicines Safety Improvement Programme (MedSIP), commissioned by NHS England to reduce harm from opioids, by reducing prescribing in chronic (persistent) (non-cancer) pain.

    It includes presentations and valuable discussions from partners working with the Health Innovation Network South London, Imperial College Health Partners, UCLPartners and the London Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer (CDAO) as well as hearing from persons with lived experience and healthcare professionals from across London who will:

    • Share learning of how to effectively support people living with chronic (persistent) pain from service users
    • Showcase innovative models of care that support service users to live well with pain and reduce or stop opioids
    • Generate ideas for impactful and scalable changes to reduce opioid prescribing in chronic (persistent) non-cancer pain


    Speakers include Dr Benjamin Ellis, Consultant Rheumatologist at Imperial College Hospital and as senior clinical policy adviser at Arthritis Research UK, Sarfraz Jeraj, Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Lead for the Pain: Equality of care and support in the community (PEACS) project and UCLP speaker TBC.
