Diabetes in Pregnancy Community of Practice: Screening for GDM

20th October 3:30-4:30pm

Hosted on Zoom

We will send the link to join a week before the event. We also plan to record the session so those who cannot join can still hear discussions.

The Community of Practice

At the suggestion of various clinical teams, the Health Innovation Network helped convene the pan-London Diabetes in Pregnancy Community of Practice. Bringing together colleagues from across diabetes and maternity services, the community of practice is a self-governing collaborative network designed to improve care and services for women and babies affected by diabetes in pregnancy. Our first meeting of the Community of Practice in June 2018 was fantastically well attended with over 50 colleagues from across the whole of London attending, and we have built on from that with each session since proving to be just as successful. We have representation from 20+ trusts from across the city as well as from academia, commissioners, the Clinical Networks and women and families with lived experience. The focus and actions of the community is led by you as the participants, and so this is your chance to make a real impact in this area. Over the past 6 months, we have stepped down our Community of Practice in view of Coronavirus and the extraordinary strain placed on the NHS. After a few conversations with our core group of clinicians involved in the community we took the decision to restart activities and readjust our focus so we can best support you and your colleagues through this time. on 29th of September we held a session titled 'Where are we now?' designed to provide space for members of the community of practice to connect, reflect, share thoughts and ideas with colleagues. For notes from the session visit the Diabetes in Pregnancy NHS Futures platform (https://future.nhs.uk/LondonMatNeo/grouphome) or get in touch with Ellie. We will also be sharing the results of our pan-London Questionnaire to build a picture of approaches across the city over the last 6 months. As always, there will be opportunity for you to share reflections with colleagues and discuss your own thoughts and ideas. Details for the call including an agenda to follow. Future sessions: 3.
