Evaluation and Informatics Services

The HIN delivers specialist evaluation and informatics support to health and care organisations in south London. We also deliver this work for regional and national stakeholders, including NHS England and the former NHSX.

The HIN has an Insights team of skilled and experienced analysts, mixed methods researchers/evaluators, senior health and care managers, clinical staff, specialists in technology, innovation and commissioning. This allows the HIN to combine expertise on evaluation and informatics with expertise from its clinical and cross-cutting work programmes to undertake bespoke commissioned evaluations and data analytics support.

We offer the following support:

– Evaluation design and support consultancy – Providing independent, expert advice and support to ensure the quality of the evaluation (i.e. by providing a critical sounding board for the evaluation) and strengthen its credibility.

–  Mixed methods evaluations – Design and deliver evaluations for new    products / innovations / technologies / services / pathways with a focus on piloting for implementation and scale-up. This can be from small local service evaluations to large scale national programmes.

–  Evaluation capability building / training – Tailored training on different aspects of evaluation design and delivery. Sessions are designed to provide the principles underpinning and background to the topic, as well as bring in real world examples, case studies, and practical exercises to consolidate learning.

–  Digital health technology real world evaluations – Via our links with DigitalHealth.London and work to increase the pool of evidence around digital health innovations we have specialist expertise in evaluating digital health technologies.

–  Informatics support – Providing data analytics and insights reporting, data cleansing, manipulation and modelling, and developing bespoke data collection tools.

–  Most of our support would be via fee for service projects. We are always happy to meet to have an initial discussion about your project to see if we (or one of our partners) can help.
